Introduction

Heyy.. We are Group 15 of Amethyst 6 from CHIJ (Katong) Primary. On 1st Feb 2012, we went for an excursion along the Interactive Learning Trail in Terminal 3.

Our group members are Rachelle Loi, Samantha Lim, Sarah Serag and Nuramirah Lizayunis. We arrived at Terminal 3 in the morning and joined the learning journey organised by our school!

At Changi Airport

We learnt about the aviation of history Singapore Changi Airport. We learnt about the ' passenger traffic' at the airports. We also learnt some facts about how animals travel on board flights, and how food is prepared in the aeroplanes.

Station 1

At this station, we learnt about the Seven Wonders of the World at ''Changi Wonders of the World'' display. We also learnt about the famous Singapore icon, ' The Merlion '.

Station 2

We were challenged with mathematical questions at the station. We learnt how to calculate the costs of taking a shuttle bus from the airport to the city.

Activities at Station 2:

Christian Moeller is an artist who designed the fiberglass propeller, Daisy. ( The picture is on the right )

Next we went to the Changi Wonders of the World. The Sydney Opera House in Australia was designed by John Utzon, a Danish man. It serves as a performing arts centre. This landmark is regarded as one of the greatest Architectural masterpieces of the 20th century.

The Taji Mahal is found in Agra, India. It is a monument of love. This landmark, which is made of white marble, was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan of his beloved wife. The Granduer and rich beauty of the Taj makes it one of the most amazing attractions in the world.

The Great Pyramid of Giza is found in Egypt. This mounument , also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, is the oldest and largest pyramid. It is the oldest Seven wonders of the world.

The Eiffel Tower, nicknamed La dame de fer, the iron lady is a puddle iron lattice tower located in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become a global cultural icon in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris. It was named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel.

Station 3

At this station, we went to the Slide at T3 and learnt about the rules and regulations. It says that you need to be at least 130cm tall to ride the 12 meter long slide. We were all excited to ride the slide but when we went there, it was closed as it says that the slide is open from 12pm to 10.30pm daily.

After learning about the T3 Slide, we went to look for a very unique and special Recycling Bins. ( shown on the right ) We also took a group photo with the Recycling Bins! Did you know that there are amazing facts about recycling on the bins. It says that every ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees! Station 4

This was the best station of all. We did our own masterpieces at the Woodblock print station. It turned out awesome after printing. The black art piece was done by Rachelle and the colourful one was done by Amirah, hope you like it.
